The 2017 event takes place at Virginia Trails, Eston in November.

 

 

The venue will be Virginia Farm, Eston, approximately 30km from Kingsburgh on the R603. Approximate drive times from the major cities will be 50 minutes from PMB, 60 minutes from Durban and 70 minutes from Port Shepstone.

This fund raising event is to raise much needed funds for the Eston Primary School. The school is central to the community and requires ongoing support. Eston is a country school, small in size and supported by the local community. We concentrate our efforts on providing a ‘rounded’ education by actively pursuing the development of human potential.

 

Your support would be appreciated by the community.

 

 

Virginia Trails provides clean ablutions, HOT showers, a bike wash as well as safe secure parking.

 

The focus of the event will be on family participation with an emphasis on a farm and wildlife experience. The route will be varied and will provide an opportunity to experience wild animals (buck and birds) and a unique biodiversity at close range. Participants will be encouraged to stay at one of the many tourist facilities in the district.

 

The terrain in the Eston district will provide a unique experience for riders. The 40km route will target the technical more experienced riders, and will incorporate approximately 10km of single track some of it along the edge of the magnificent Mgwahumbe Valley (Gods window). There will also be sections of very technical descent in places. The 20 km route will allow riders to appreciate the unique beauty of the area, and still provide a challenge for participants. A 10km (2 laps of 5km) route will be provided for those less technically minded and more inclined to minimal exertion. Some new trails have been included.

 

A 5 km MTB route, remains close to the venue and allows the young and old new riders, to experience the feeling of participating in a race without being it been too strenuous. For the kids under 12 your ride is FREE!!– PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A FUN EVENT (NO TIMING)

Follow the signs off the R603 (eZimwini turn off) to the Virginia Trails venue (3.6km tar road) and its parking. Please obey the marshals to prevent any congestion

 

From the parking area follow the Registration signs to where all your admin will be done for you by the friendly staff of ROAG.

 

At the admin area you will find all the catering and beverage services waiting for you. A hot cup of coffee and a healthy egg and bacon sandwich! If it is hot then the cool drinks and beverages will be waiting for you on ice.

 

We suggest you bring your gazebos, camping chairs and picnic rugs and to relax on the lush green grass areas at the venue.

 

The theme is all about Christmas so expect to hear Xmas music and to see Father Christmas along the route. A jumping castle will be available to entertain the young kids in a secure area.

 

 

We have had great fun designing these trails for you. You will find them smooth and free flowing, with as little bottle necks as possible, some technical sections and many magnificent views.

 

Our FUN water tables will be found along the route to refresh you.

 

FOR THE MTB BIKERS it is not too tough, the hills are forgiving and you are rewarded with nice easy downhill sections and magnificent scenery. If you are a pro and you attack these routes, you may find it fast but also technical and tough in places.

 

FOR THE TRAIL RUNNERS it is easy running with a hill or two, through the most picturesque countryside. There is a good chance you will stumble upon a warthog, some type of antelope and the most amazing birdlife. A true trail runner’s paradise! We have introduced the new slightly longer 18km route for you!
